Let it Rain

Upcoming St. Louis Park events won't let weather stand in the way.

No need to say any more about the wet summer weather we have been having, other than the fact that there are a few upcoming St. Louis Park events that won't let rain dampen anyone's spirits. Fingers crossed that skies will be crystal clear and bug-free.

July 4th Fireworks
Stevie and the Table Rockers will once again provide the soundtrack for this free annual St. Louis Park celebration, scheduled for July 4 at Aquila Park from 7-9:30 p.m. Music, vendors and concessions will be part of the fun before the fireworks take center stage at 10.p.m.  IF it rains, the event will take place on July 5.

Macbeth
The Public Theater of Minnesota will once again bring Shakespeare into the open air and under the stars at the Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater in Wolfe Park. This year, the tragedy of Macbeth will unfold on the stage -- and a little rain won't matter. The Public Theater does not cancel performances in advance for weather related reasons and instead, simply holds the curtain until rain showers pass. Free performances will be held Fridays-Sundays, July 11-27, at 8 p.m. Due to the nature of this play, it is not suitable for very young children.

Summer Skateboard Series
Originally rained out on June 14, this competitive skateboarding event has been rescheduled for July 13 at 11 a.m. Sponsored by 3rd Lair Skate Park, young skateboarders will have the chance to test their skills against others from around the Twin Cities who will gather at the Skate Park at 3700 Monterey Drive.
