The St. Louis Park home furnishings store Ciel Loft & Home has a new location, just across the street featuring its “urban farmhouse,” “modern industrial,” and “sophisticated rustic” vibe. Owner Andy Higgins says the “airiness” of the new location brought new life to the store. “The whole thing feels more lively,” Higgins says. “People seem to really like it.”
The store’s first location opened in December 2012, but Higgins and his team knew that a move was always a possibility. Ciel closed for almost three months during the move and renovation process, and reopened last August. Higgins says he was able to work with the landlord of the new location to design the space accordingly. “Being forced to move, we started to think about” what we could do differently, Higgins says. “It gave us the freedom to reinvent a little bit.”
With the new space roughly the same size as the previous location, the store added a customizable upholstery line, Cisco Brothers, based in Los Angeles. Higgins says the line is a perfect complement to Ciel’s style.
