Connecting St. Louis Park

Project aims to make the community accessible by bike and foot.

Connect the Parks is a 10-year, 32-mile project that is three years and six miles in the making. St. Louis Park transportation engineer Chris Iverson says that there are four to five additional miles planned for this coming year alone.

“The goal going into this project was to implement the community’s vision,” he says. “This is what the residents of St. Louis Park want their community to look like in the future.”

Iverson says that the project aims to use the existing paths and trails as a backbone and create a network that can be used for both recreation and as an effective transportation corridor. The trail currently under construction will run near Utica Avenue and connect with the inter-city North Cedar Lake Trail.
